“Friends don’t lie” as Dream tweeted on his second account with a blurred picture of a boarding walkway on an airport to meet George and Wilbur. This tweet caused chaos in Twitter especially the fans of these content creators, as they are expecting to see a meet-up between them three, especially Dream and George, which are best friends and buddies in life. In this story, it would talk more about the history of this UK Vlog on how it started, how it happened, how it ended, and what is the plan in the future?
The Beginning of The Meet Up
Last July 11, 2020, in TommyInnit’s stream in Twitch, Wilbur (known as WilburSoot) asked Dream (known as DreamWasTaken) to a pizza date in the UK. On July 12, 2020, at 7:25 PM BST, Wilbur tweeted “sometimes people lie” and tagged Dream with a picture of him in front of a Pizza Hut in the UK. Dream then commented on Wilbur’s tweet that he is on the plane and thought that it was 8 PM EST or 2:00 PM BST, and Wilbur replied that they would see each other at 8 PM BST the next day. Later that day, Dream tweeted on his second account a picture of an airport boarding walkway, with the caption “friends don’t lie.” Dream’s next tweets were about the meet up on July 14.
Their friends and co-streamers have different reactions to this event. George was, jokingly, jealous of Wilbur because he is meeting with Dream, his best friend. He then tweeted that he would run over his scooter to Dream for 10,000 retweets, which he succeeded. Sylvee, which was one of Dream’s teammate for Minecraft Championship 8, stated in her stream that Dream is actually in the UK to meet up with Wilbur. Sapnap was jealous since he cannot join Dream and George, but he met up with Skeppy instead and posted a vlog about their meet up. Tommy, meanwhile, was hesitant and did not believe that Dream will meet up with Wilbur.
The Meet-Up
On July 14, 2020, Dream tweeted on his main account the picture of Pizza Hut, where Wilbur has taken his picture before, with a drawing of Dream blob on his hand. He also commented that he is waiting for Wilbur. A few minutes later, he went to the top of a parking building, which is beside the Pizza Hut, and took a picture of Wilbur waiting in front of the Pizza Hut. Then they met, and Dream tweeted a picture of Wilbur holding the piece of paper with the drawing of Dream on it. He also said that they would also meet George, but he was late. Dream’s next tweet then is a picture of Wilbur and George sitting in Brighton Marina and talking to each other, while Dream was the one taking the picture. They also went to the beach and Dream tweeted another picture of Wilbur’s back with the drawing on the rocks. George also tweeted that Dream smells worse than he expected The meet-up ended with a video posted by Dream on his second account a video of them walking, with Dream saying “just three dudes walking down a path.” Wilbur then later tweeted that it was nice meeting them both. George also tweeted that it was quite epic on meeting them both, and he later revealed that he has a new iPhone.
Is It Real or Not? and the Next Few Months
Although many of their fans were shocked and happy about this event, some are skeptical and did not believe in it. Some have stated that why would Dream go to the UK, for a simple meet up, in the middle of a global pandemic. In addition, they also stated that there are quarantine protocols that must be done first, before entering the UK. Others have also stated that Minecraft Championship 8 is on July 18, 4 days after their meet up, and how would Dream play on it, if his personal computer is left at his home. There is also a theory that Dream is not in the UK and the pictures were taken from an Android phone due to the small grains and pixels of the picture, which is different from an iPhone camera.
After this event, neither of them have posted anything about their meet up. They continued to post videos and streams, and also try to avoid talks with their friends about the meet-up vlog. In those past months, there are few vlogs, such as Skeppy’s meet-up with Sapnap and Tommy’s meet-up with Wilbur, which has been posted on YouTube. Fans have been telling Dream and George to post the vlog, but others have become tired of it. More and more of their fans have become skeptical whether the vlog is real or not. Some people have also made accounts about the vlog, like an account where it tells how many days has been since their meet up. But after a few months, Dream then tweeted on his second account something about the vlog…
Breaking the Silence
On October 2, 2020, Dream tweeted that the vlog was a joke, and then tweeted that the vlog is not a joke. But he then later addressed that he didn’t go to the UK. George thought that the idea of Dream going to the UK to meet up with him and Wilbur was a fun idea for a video, but later back out because it would disappoint their fans. Dream also stated that George and Wilbur truly met each other and have several footages, however, George is lazy at editing and posting it on YouTube. Only a few people know the plan: Dream, George, Wilbur, and Tommy. Dream has also stated that their fans should ask George to post the vlog of him and Wilbur.
For the other parts of the meet-up. Dream has stated that the picture of the airport boarding walkway was from a relative. He might be thinking that if he took a picture from the internet, the fans might know it since pictures can be traced, whether it is original or taken from the internet. George was the one who has also taken the pictures that Dream posted on Twitter, and with the audio of Dream, he was in a call with George. The drawing was speculated to be George since the handwriting is similar to his handwriting in the Mr. Beast competition. In those days, he also tweets in his iPhone so that fans would not recognize that he is not in the UK and that he is in his PC at home.
The Future of the Vlog
As stated by Dream in his tweets and George’s picture (where it can be seen that one of the videos is more than an hour of footage), there are evidence that there is footage and content for George and Wilbur’s meet up. There were some speculations that the next video that George would be posting is their meet up (WARNING: speculations). So we hope that the vlog would be released as soon as possible. Truly, friends do lie :)
